What happened
Vera put Charles Jourdain on the canvas three times, which no bantamweight has done in a single UFC fight before. The finish came at 2:02 of round three. Jourdain had arrived on a three-fight win streak and left at 18-9-1. Vera took the $25,000 finish bonus and moved to 24-12-1 in the featured prelim slot.
Vera had not won a fight since August 19, 2023, when he beat Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292. Three years and one month. In between came four straight losses, all of them decisions: Martinez in February 2026, Zahabi in October 2025, Figueiredo in August 2024 and Sean O'Malley in a title fight in March 2024. Nobody finished him in any of them.
In the cage with Joe Rogan he was blunt about the run. “I needed that... You know, four in a row, four decisions, like, I have never put an excuse in my life.” Then he named what he leans on: “My faith, my strength, my heart, my immigrant mentality, which is the most important thing that I have. For my family, for my kids, I'm in here for another run.”
What the market did
Read this before the table. The lowest trade on this market printed at 28¢, and you will see that number quoted elsewhere. It was not a price you could buy at. It was a seller hitting the bid. The best offer at that moment was 32¢, 4¢ higher, and that is the number this page uses.
Vera traded at 37c (+170) before the bout, with Jourdain the favourite at -205. The cheapest a buyer could have paid while the fight was live was 32c at 00:45Z on September 20, roughly a one in three read. It settled at 100c when the referee waved it off in round three, the same as every winner on the card.
Other sites will quote 28c. That was a seller hitting the bid, four cents below the best offer, not a price anyone could have taken. A four-fight losing streak is a clean story for a market to price, and the market priced it. What the number did not carry was three knockdowns from a fighter whose previous four fights had all gone to the cards. Form is simple to price. A change in form is not.
What each stake returned
| Stake | Contracts at 37¢ | Returned | Contracts at 32¢ | Returned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100.00 | 270 | $270.00 | 312 | $312.00 |
| $200.00 | 540 | $540.00 | 625 | $625.00 |
| $5,000.00 | 13,513 | $13,513.00 | 15,625 | $15,625.00 |
The right half is the best offer that existed while the fight was live. Getting filled there still depends on size being available, which a candlestick cannot tell you. Volume on that minute was 63,823 contracts. Returns are gross of the Kalshi trading fee and are hindsight: they show what a price paid once the result was known, not what anyone should stake next.
