LowKick, theScore and MiddleEasy call it a KO, while Sherdog and CBS record a TKO, and LowKick's own description has the referee stopping it after ground and pound. Either way, it was the first finish of Pitbull's UFC career, in his fourth appearance, and it took a $25,000 bonus.
Patricio Pitbull is the most decorated fighter Bellator produced, a multi-time featherweight champion there and a former Bellator lightweight champion. He arrived in the UFC with a long record behind him and went 1-2 before this. He apologised in the cage for those earlier performances, then called out Jean Silva. He is now 38-9 overall and 2-2 in the UFC.
Choi came in on a three-fight win streak and leaves at 17-5-1 with that run over. For Pitbull the result answers the specific charge against his UFC stint, which was that the version of him the UFC signed no longer showed up on the night.
