How to read the hourly desk

    One hour, many strikes

Kalshi’s hourly BTC contract (KXBTCD) asks one question per strike: will BTC be at or above this price when the hour closes?

    The 15-minute desk
    1. Pick the hour

Kalshi lists the coming hours ahead of time, but each one only starts trading 1 hour before it closes. Until then the desk shows its strikes and says it isn’t trading yet, with no price.

    2. Pick a strike

The desk starts on the strike nearest the live BTC price. Up is the Kalshi ask for YES at that strike; Down is 100 minus the YES bid.

    3. Read the payout

The stake, contracts, Kalshi fee and what you get if right or lose if wrong use the same math as the 15-minute desk: fee = 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price), rounded up to the cent.

    4. Then decide

Signals, the short-term read and Market pulse describe the candles and the news. They are heuristics, not odds of winning.
