Baltimore 4, Toronto 2, and a contract that settled at zero
The makeup of Tuesday’s postponement, replayed as a 1:35 PM Eastern start. Toronto lost, so the Toronto contract paid nothing. The desk position on it was closed before the last out, at a price written down before the entry, and the tape says that price was reachable in 3 of the 112 minutes on the record.
Final
Baltimore Orioles 4, Toronto Blue Jays 2 Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The makeup of the game postponed from September 22, and not the regularly scheduled September 23 game between the same two clubs.
How it finished
Baltimore won 4 to 2. MLB’s own feed carries the game as Final, gamePk 824785, with the home club the winner.
This was the makeup of the game originally scheduled for September 22 and postponed, replayed on September 23 as a 1:35 PM Eastern start at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. It is not the regularly scheduled September 23 meeting between the same two clubs, which had its own start time, its own gamePk and its own Kalshi ticker, and which had not begun when this page was written. Two Toronto at Baltimore games on one date is the reason this result lives under the September 22 slug rather than under September 23.
Toronto losing means a Toronto contract on this game pays nothing. Kalshi finalised KXMLBGAME-26SEP221835TORBAL-TOR at 20:23:28 UTC with the expiration value Baltimore and a settlement value of zero dollars. Every Toronto ticket still held at that minute was worth nothing.
What the price did
The transcribed record of Kalshi’s one-minute candles on this contract covers 112 minutes with volume, 18:27 to 20:21 UTC, and 1,032,457 contracts. Minutes with no trading are not in it.
Across all of that, the contract printed at 30¢ or better in 3 minutes: 18:58, 18:59, 19:00 UTC. The high of the session, 42¢, printed in the last of the 3. Everything after it goes one way.
| UTC | Open | High | Close | What the minute is |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 18:27 | 22¢ | 22¢ | 22¢ | First minute in the transcript. Volume before this is not in the record. |
| 18:58 | 22¢ | 37¢ | 32¢ | First minute the contract printed at 30¢ or better, which is where the resting sell could fill. |
| 19:00 | 33¢ | 42¢ | 17¢ | The high of the session. |
| 20:12 | 10¢ | 12¢ | 5¢ | The heaviest minute of the session, 41,302 contracts. |
| 20:15 | 4¢ | 5¢ | 1¢ | First minute closing at 1¢. |
| 20:21 | 1¢ | 1¢ | 1¢ | Last minute with volume before the market closed. |
Before that record starts, Kalshi’s book at the fill showed 23¢ bid against 24¢ ask, with 47 cents as the previous price on this same contract. That 47 is a book read reported with the position ticket rather than a candle, so this page cites it as a previous price and does not claim it as the day’s open.
The market closed at 20:20:22 UTC. The last price to trade was 1¢, and it stayed there for the final minutes of the session.
The desk position
The game was lost and the position still made money, because the exit was written down before the entry.
That is the whole of it, and it is worth being plain about what it is and is not. It is not a read on the game: the read on the game was wrong, and a plan to hold this contract to settlement would have returned nothing at all. It is a resting sell order at 30¢, decided before the buy, which sat in the book and filled at 18:58 UTC when the price came to it. The grade below is Kalshi’s own trade history with both fee legs counted.

The number that stings is in the table above, two minutes after the fill. The order was resting at 30¢, so 30¢ is what it got. A target that also catches the top is a target chosen after the fact.
The same rule cost this desk money two days earlier, booking a target fill on a contract that went on to settle at a dollar. Neither day says the rule is good. Together they say it is a rule, which is the only thing a public record can actually test. Read the plan as it was written, before the game
Why a September 22 ticker settled on September 23
This is a mechanic rather than an opinion, and it is the part most readers get wrong. Kalshi’s rules text on this market says the contract refers to the game originally scheduled for September 22 at 6:35 PM Eastern. If that game is postponed or delayed, the market stays open and closes after the rescheduled game has finished, within two days. If the game is cancelled outright, or pushed more than two days out, the market resolves to a fair price rather than to a winner.
So the postponement did not void anything. It moved the settlement by a day and left a September 22 ticker trading, and settling, on September 23. A reader who saw the date in the ticker and assumed the market had expired would have been wrong about a contract that went on to trade 1,032,457 times.
