Six storylines for Giants at Texans

McCarthy gets the job

John Harbaugh named J.J. McCarthy the starter this week, with Winston as the backup: “As we go forward here, this is going to be our direction.” McCarthy, acquired in a trade with Minnesota, threw for 243 yards in just over 11 minutes against the Saints after replacing Winston in the second half. Jaxson Dart, the opening-day starter, was lost for the season in Week 2. CBS Sports · AP via ESPN

Stroud is playing his best football

Stroud threw for 312 yards and three touchdowns in the 34-31 win over Jacksonville at Wembley and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He ranks second in the NFL with 1,714 passing yards and leads the league with 25 completions of 20 yards or more. AP via ESPN · AP via ESPN

Houston’s receiver room fills up

Marvin Harrison Jr., traded from Arizona, caught three passes for 34 yards in limited work in his debut, and DeMeco Ryans expects him to do more this week. Tank Dell is set to play his first game in almost two years after a knee injury, joining Nico Collins and Jaylin Noel, who had a career-high 107 yards in London. “I see it as a strength, a true strength of ours,” Ryans said. Dell is listed questionable on Friday’s report after a full practice, and Ryans has said he expects him to play. AP via ESPN · Texans On SI

Nabers has 23 catches in two weeks

Malik Nabers caught 11 passes for 121 yards at Washington and 12 for 165 against New Orleans, after a quiet start in which he had one catch for one yard in Week 2. Houston allows 246.0 passing yards a game, 6th most. ESPN box scores

The Giants’ backfield is in flux

New York released Najee Harris after he started Sunday. Cam Skattebo did not get a carry after his overtime fumble at Washington; “I got punished for what I did, and I understand,” he said. Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy: “Less backs means probably more carries for some of those backs that are in there.” Houston allows 83.0 rushing yards a game, 3rd fewest. AP via ESPN · Heavy · SI

Will Anderson Jr. against a banged-up line

Anderson leads the NFL with 7½ sacks, though Houston did not sack Trevor Lawrence in London. The Giants’ tackles Andrew Thomas (groin), Jermaine Eluemunor (calf) and Marcus Mbow (knee) all moved from out on Wednesday to limited on Thursday; on Friday’s final report Eluemunor and Mbow are questionable and Thomas carries no status. “We’ll try to get J.J. down,” Anderson said. Why each side can win

The Giants

New York has Nabers in his best form of the season against a defense allowing 246.0 passing yards a game, and McCarthy led three fourth-quarter scoring drives on Sunday. The Giants’ pass defense allows 190.2 yards a game, 5th fewest.

The Texans

Houston is home with Stroud coming off his best game, a deeper receiver room with Harrison and Dell, and a run defense allowing 83.0 yards a game against a Giants backfield that ran for 34 yards on Sunday.

These are the arguments each side’s backers make, not a pick. AP via ESPN · AP via ESPN · CBS Sports

What the market says

The posted line has Houston Texans favoured by 10.5, with a total of 42.5. A spread is the market's estimate of the margin, not a result; the Kalshi contract below prices the win outright.

The two venue prices sit at the top of this page and are read live when it loads. A contract settles at $1.00 if that team wins and $0 if it loses, so a price in cents is that market’s implied chance of the win. Prices are the venues’, not our picks, and the two rarely agree to the cent.

A spread and a contract price are two different questions. The spread is the market’s estimate of the margin; the contract prices the win outright, and it is the one you can sell before the game ends. Books differ on the spread itself: our read found two games where a second book had a different number the same afternoon.1

The question on New York Giants

New York Giants are 3-2-1 and they are on the road, and the line makes them the underdog by 10.5. Decide what chance you would give them, in cents, before you read the board. If your number is above the ask, that is the trade; if it is not, there is no trade here.

The question on Houston Texans

Houston Texans are 2-4 and favoured by 10.5. A favourite contract costs most of a dollar, so the money at risk is large against the money to be made. Work out what you lose if it goes wrong before you decide what you make if it goes right.

Whatever you decide, write the entry, the sell target and the hold rule before kickoff, and remember the fee is largest near 50¢. How the fee works

Questions people ask about this game

Who is favored in Giants vs Texans on October 25, 2026?

The Houston Texans are 10-point favorites over the New York Giants at DraftKings, with a total of 42.5, as shown on ESPN’s game page Saturday, October 24, 2026. Kalshi had Houston at 80 to 81 cents to win at 7:50 AM PT on Saturday.

What time is Giants vs Texans and what channel is it on?

The Giants play the Texans on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM ET (10:00 AM PT) in Houston. The game is on FOX.

Who is starting at quarterback for the Giants?

J.J. McCarthy, in his first start for New York, with Jameis Winston as the backup, per CBS Sports on October 21. Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending injury in Week 2.

Is David Montgomery playing for the Texans?

No. Houston ruled him out on Friday’s final injury report with a groin injury, his second straight missed game. Woody Marks has led the backfield.

What is the weather for Giants vs Texans?

The AccuWeather forecast on ESPN’s game page, read Saturday, lists 76 degrees at kickoff in Houston with no precipitation.

What is Agent Brad’s parlay for Giants vs Texans?

Agent Brad is sitting this one out, and he will be right back with you for the next game. Houston’s passing game runs into a Giants pass defense allowing 190.2 yards a game, 5th fewest, while New York’s backs meet a Texans run defense allowing 83.0, 3rd fewest, so the props on the board are priced tight against two of the stingiest units in the league.

How many points is each team priced for in New York Giants at Houston Texans?

Half the total moved half the spread puts New York Giants at about 16 points and Houston Texans at about 26.5. That is arithmetic on the two posted numbers, not a score projection, and it is the figure most fantasy decisions on this game turn on.

How often does each leg of a pick'em entry need to hit to break even?

A pick'em entry is a parlay, so every leg has to land: two legs you price at 60 per cent are 36 per cent together, and three are 22 per cent. If your board pays N times the entry on an L-leg play, the entry needs to win one divided by N of the time, so each leg needs the L-th root of that. A two-leg play paying 3x needs each leg at about 57.7 per cent, and a four-leg play paying 10x needs each at about 56.2 per cent. Multipliers differ by state, board and promotion, so use your own terms.
