Who: Miami's starting point guard.

The matchup: He has played 33 to 37 minutes every night, and he is also scoring 18.0 a game, so defenses have to come out to meet him.

What beats it: Monday against Dallas: 2 assists in 33 minutes while he scored 21. When he looks for his own shot, the assists dry up.

Bam Adebayo 2+ assists

Who: Miami's starting center.

The number: 4, 3, 4 and 3 assists so far, after 3.2 a game across 73 games last season. 2+ sits at 79 to 85 cents, 82% in the middle.

The matchup: His low of 3 came in 23 minutes in the loss to Detroit, so even a short night has cleared the line so far.

What beats it: Foul trouble or a blowout that cuts his minutes. He is scoring 11.8 a game after 20.1 last season, so his touches are down.

CJ McCollum 2+ assists

Who: Atlanta's starting point guard.

The number: 3, 1, 1 and 3 assists so far, 2.0 a game, after 3.9 a game across 76 games last season. 2+ sits at 78 to 84 cents, 81% in the middle.

The matchup: He has played 30 minutes in each of the last two games and is scoring 17.3 a game, so the ball is in his hands.

What beats it: This is the thinnest leg. He had one assist in two of his four games, and Jalen Johnson, at 8.5 assists a game, runs much of Atlanta's offense.

Giannis Antetokounmpo 4+ assists

Who: Miami's starting power forward.

The number: 1, 5, 3 and 11 assists so far, 5.0 a game, after 5.4 a game across 36 games last season. 4+ sits at 76 to 81 cents, 78.5% in the middle.

The matchup: He is scoring 28.5 a game, and his 11 assists on Monday came in 39 minutes, his most of the season.

What beats it: Two of his four games fell short: 1 assist against Minnesota, when he scored 35, and 3 at Charlotte in 25 minutes. When he scores on his own, the passes do not come.
