The Miller and Porter 5 Leg Brooklyn Opener Parlay, by Agent Dime

Five lines from the players each team leans on most. Brandon Miller gives two, his points and his threes, Michael Porter Jr. two more, his points and rebounds, and Dennis Schroder runs Charlotte's offense.

Dime leaves Julius Randle off the ticket in his first game as a Net: his rebounding price swung sharply on Wednesday morning and his points cost too much for what they pay. Charlotte's second guard spot is unsettled too, so Grayson Allen and Sion James stay off.

The matchups that decide the props

The scoring runs through two forwards. Brandon Miller averaged 20.2 points last season and becomes Charlotte's clear first option with Kon Knueppel and Coby White out. Michael Porter Jr. led Brooklyn at 24.2 a game, and Julius Randle's 21.1 for Minnesota gives the Nets a second scorer beside him for the first time.

Charlotte rebuilt its backcourt around Dennis Schroder, who averaged 4.9 assists in 24.2 minutes last season and now starts. Up front, Moussa Diabate's 8.7 rebounds a game meet a Brooklyn frontcourt of Randle and Day'Ron Sharpe, with Nic Claxton gone to Chicago.

The storylines around opening night

Charlotte went 44-38 last season, ninth in the East, and its year ended in the play-in tournament. Brooklyn went 20-62.

Charlotte traded LaMelo Ball to Minnesota in July for Naz Reid and draft picks. In the four-team deal around it, Brooklyn landed Julius Randle from Minnesota and sent Nic Claxton to Chicago.

Kon Knueppel, who made 273 threes as a rookie last season, the most in the NBA, misses the opener with a left hamstring strain. Coby White (left calf) and Grant Williams (right hamstring) are out too.

Brandon Miller opens the season after agreeing to a five-year, $209 million extension with Charlotte.

Brooklyn added Keon Ellis and Moritz Wagner in free agency, and Michael Porter Jr. is back after leading the Nets at 24.2 points a game.
