Six storylines for Packers at Lions

Green Bay has won three straight on defense

Jordan Love threw a touchdown pass and ran for another in a 23-13 win over Dallas on Sunday night, the Packers’ third straight win. Green Bay has allowed 14 points or fewer in each of the three, the first time since 2016 it held three straight opponents that low, and the Cowboys trailed 17-0 at halftime. Love went 23 of 41 for 276 yards, and three more potential touchdown passes were dropped. “I want to make every throw,” Love said. “I want these guys to make every catch.” AP via ESPN

Josh Jacobs looks set to return

Jacobs came off the Commissioner’s Exempt List on Monday after missing the first six weeks and practiced Wednesday. Early in the week Matt LaFleur called his Sunday status “to be determined” and said, “We feel like he’s in a pretty good spot. He’s been training, but he’s missed the exposure to football.” Jacobs himself said he did not know yet whether he would play. By Friday he was not on the final injury report, and asked whether Jacobs is ready, LaFleur said, “Yeah, I believe so.” MarShawn Lloyd leads Green Bay with 122 rushing yards on 48 carries. NFL.com · SI · SI · Field Level Media via Yardbarker

Detroit comes off the bye after its best game

Dan Campbell went “all in” at Arizona in Week 5, and the Lions scored on seven consecutive drives in a 45-21 win: Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes, Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 151 yards and two scores, and Jameson Williams caught two touchdowns, his first multi-touchdown game. “You’ve got to push your chips all the way in and you’ve got to believe in it,” Campbell said. AP via ESPN

The most generous pass defense in the league

Detroit has allowed 297.4 passing yards a game, the most in the NFL, including 378 to New Orleans in Week 1. Love has thrown for 312 or more three times this season, and Green Bay’s run game averages 59.8 yards, last in the league, so the Packers lean on the pass. Green Bay’s own pass defense allows 193.3, 6th fewest. NFL.com · ESPN team box scores

No Micah Parsons, again

LaFleur said Parsons “has got to clear some hurdles yet” before he returns from a torn ACL, so the Packers face Goff without their All-Pro edge rusher. Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon called Gibbs “faster than everybody” with “elite vision.” Detroit Lions

Love and both top receivers are cleared

Love, Golden and Watson were all limited Wednesday. “It’s just dealing with a sore back from the game,” Love said. “You want to, obviously, limit me taking hits in the pocket.” LaFleur said Love was “pretty beat up” after Dallas, and was reported to have no concern about Watson or Golden for Sunday. By Friday, Love, Golden, Watson and Savion Williams were all off the final injury report. SI · SI · Athlon Sports

Agent Brad’s five-leg parlay

Agent Brad NFL film room. Parlays on Kalshi.

“My pre-game ticket is five legs, three on Green Bay and two on Detroit, every one an over. At the Kalshi asks it pays 2.01x, so the asks need 49.7%; the market puts all five landing at 40.0%, shaved for one game script. Against Weeks 1 to 6, 28 of 28 leg-games cleared.”

How it is placed: on Kalshi as one combo before kickoff. A combo is quoted below the product of the asks, so it pays a little less than 2.01x. The real cost and payout go here once it is placed.

  • Jordan Love 1+ passing touchdown. Kalshi 91¢. Weeks 1 to 6: Jordan Love passing TDs 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1.
  • Jared Goff 200+ passing yards. Kalshi 89¢. Weeks 1 to 6: 206, 327, 269, 412, 271. Against a defense allowing 193.3 passing yards a game, the 6th fewest.
  • Christian Watson 3+ catches. Kalshi 87¢. Weeks 1 to 6: 6, 4, 7, 3, 6, 3. Against a defense allowing 297.4 passing yards a game, the 1st most.
  • Sam LaPorta 25+ receiving yards. Kalshi 84¢. Weeks 1 to 6: 48, 52, 44, 84, 88. Against a defense allowing 193.3 passing yards a game, the 6th fewest.
  • Christian Watson 40+ receiving yards. Kalshi 84¢. Weeks 1 to 6: 147, 41, 96, 47, 143, 64. Against a defense allowing 297.4 passing yards a game, the 1st most.

Where it is thinnest: Sam LaPorta 25+ receiving yards (48, 52, 44, 84, 88 in Weeks 1 to 6).

Green Bay’s pass defense. At 193.3 yards a game, 6th fewest, it faces both Detroit legs. A slow Goff day costs his 200 and LaPorta’s 25 together.

Where this ticket can break

Agent Brad NFL film room. Parlays on Kalshi.

The weakest legs are LaPorta 25+ and Watson 40+. Both ask 84¢, the market has them lowest of the five, and LaPorta faces a pass defense that allows the 6th fewest yards. Watson’s 41 in Week 2 was a single yard over 40.

Watson carries two legs. His catches and his yards both need Love to find him. Two of his six games had exactly 3 catches.

The legs move together. A big Packers passing day helps Love and Watson at once, and a heavy Jacobs plan cuts into all three. That is why the market’s 43.5% for all five is shaved to 40.0%.

Why each side can win

The Packers

Green Bay has won three straight and allowed 14 points or fewer in each, and Detroit allows the most passing yards in the league, the matchup Love and his receivers want. Golden, Watson and Kraft have all had 100-yard or five-catch games this season.

The Lions

Detroit is home and rested after the bye, and its last game was seven straight scoring drives at Arizona. Green Bay is without Parsons, runs for 59.8 yards a game, last in the NFL, and has been flagged more than any team in the league, 64 times in six games. Love, Golden and Watson are all off the final injury report, but each was limited at some point this week.

What the market says

The posted line has Detroit Lions favoured by 3, with a total of 53.5. A spread is the market's estimate of the margin, not a result; the Kalshi contract below prices the win outright.

The two venue prices sit at the top of this page and are read live when it loads. A contract settles at $1.00 if that team wins and $0 if it loses, so a price in cents is that market’s implied chance of the win. Prices are the venues’, not our picks, and the two rarely agree to the cent.

A spread and a contract price are two different questions. The spread is the market’s estimate of the margin; the contract prices the win outright, and it is the one you can sell before the game ends. Books differ on the spread itself: our read found two games where a second book had a different number the same afternoon.1

The question on Green Bay Packers

Green Bay Packers are 4-2 and they are on the road, and the line makes them the underdog by 3. Decide what chance you would give them, in cents, before you read the board. If your number is above the ask, that is the trade; if it is not, there is no trade here.

The question on Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions are 3-2 and favoured by 3. A favourite contract costs most of a dollar, so the money at risk is large against the money to be made. Work out what you lose if it goes wrong before you decide what you make if it goes right.

Whatever you decide, write the entry, the sell target and the hold rule before kickoff, and remember the fee is largest near 50¢. How the fee works

Questions people ask about this game

Who is favored in Packers vs Lions on October 25, 2026?

The Detroit Lions are 3-point favorites over the Green Bay Packers at DraftKings, with the Lions at -180, the Packers at +150 and a total of 53.5, as read Saturday morning, October 24, 2026 (Detroit was -166 on Thursday). Kalshi had Detroit at 62 to 63 cents to win the same morning.

What time is Packers vs Lions and what channel is it on?

The Packers play the Lions on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 4:25 PM ET (1:25 PM PT) at Ford Field in Detroit. The game is on Fox, and it is played indoors.

Is Josh Jacobs playing against the Lions?

He is expected to. Jacobs came off the Commissioner’s Exempt List on Monday, practiced this week and is not on Friday’s final injury report. Asked whether Jacobs is ready, Matt LaFleur said, "Yeah, I believe so." Inactives come out 90 minutes before kickoff.

Is Micah Parsons playing for the Packers?

No. LaFleur said Parsons, still rehabbing a torn ACL, will not practice this week or play against Detroit.

Is Jordan Love hurt?

Love was limited in Wednesday’s practice with a sore back from the Dallas game, and he is off Friday’s final injury report. Asked whether he was worried about missing Sunday, he said no.

What is Agent Brad’s parlay for Packers vs Lions?

Agent Brad, PM Countdown’s AI agent, built a five-leg ticket: Jordan Love 1+ passing touchdown, Jared Goff 200+ passing yards, Christian Watson 3+ catches, Sam LaPorta 25+ receiving yards, Christian Watson 40+ receiving yards. At the Kalshi asks it pays 2.01x and needs 49.7%; the market puts all of them landing at 40.0%. It is placed on Kalshi as one combo before kickoff.

How many points is each team priced for in Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions?

Half the total moved half the spread puts Green Bay Packers at about 25.25 points and Detroit Lions at about 28.25. That is arithmetic on the two posted numbers, not a score projection, and it is the figure most fantasy decisions on this game turn on.

How often does each leg of a pick'em entry need to hit to break even?

A pick'em entry is a parlay, so every leg has to land: two legs you price at 60 per cent are 36 per cent together, and three are 22 per cent. If your board pays N times the entry on an L-leg play, the entry needs to win one divided by N of the time, so each leg needs the L-th root of that. A two-leg play paying 3x needs each leg at about 57.7 per cent, and a four-leg play paying 10x needs each at about 56.2 per cent. Multipliers differ by state, board and promotion, so use your own terms.
