The result
Sean Sharaf knocked out Gable Steveson at 0:12 of round one at UFC 331 on September 19, 2026, in a heavyweight bout on the main card. It was the third-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history and the first loss of Steveson's career. DraftKings closed Steveson at -2400 and Sharaf at +1200.

Prices are the last trade before the bout opened, from Kalshi one-minute candles. The fee is paid out of the $100, the way every figure on this site counts it. Prop markets on a single fight are thin, so the prop figures assume $100 was there to buy.
How it happened
Sharaf knocked Steveson out with a punch at 0:12 of round one, the third-fastest knockout in UFC heavyweight history. Steveson left the cage quickly afterwards. Daniel Cormier called that out on the broadcast: "You stand there and you take your lick whenever you lose." He added that "you cannot be a great winner but then an ungrateful loser, and I think that was bad by Steveson."
Steveson won Olympic freestyle gold at 125kg in Tokyo 2020 and two NCAA titles at Minnesota. He was in WWE from 2021 to 2024, then signed by the Buffalo Bills with no football background and released before the season. He debuted in MMA in September 2025 and was 4-0, every win a first-round KO or TKO. Sports Illustrated's verdict was that he had been "pushed too quickly".
Sharaf is 33, from Santa Ana, and a US Marine per Yahoo. He came in 0-2 in the UFC on a two-fight losing streak, both by TKO. "I believed in myself when nobody believed in myself," he said after. He also drew the line himself: "I was 4-0 undefeated when I had my first loss in the UFC. He just had his first loss." He collected three separate bonuses.

What the market did
The lowest trade printed at 9¢ and the best offer was 10¢, so this one is close to honest for a buyer.
KXUFCFIGHT-26SEP19STESHA-SHA. The line is the traded price, which is not always a price you could buy at.Sharaf went into the fight at 10c (+1200). His contract had sat flat at 9 to 10 cents from well before the bout, and 10c is the cheapest a buyer could have paid at 2026-09-20 02:07Z, the same price it had held all along. Twelve seconds of fighting took it straight to 99, and it settled at 100. DraftKings had Sharaf at a 7.69% implied chance.
Sharaf never traded below his opening line. A 9c trade printed, one cent under the best offer, so the low is close to honest here. But 10c was the pre-fight price, available with size for minutes on end, not a dip that opened once the fight started. There was no window to catch. Yahoo reported Steveson favoured as high as -1800; DraftKings settled at -2400.
What each stake returned
| Stake | Contracts at 10¢ | Returned | Contracts at 10¢ | Returned |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100.00 | 940 | $940.00 | 940 | $940.00 |
| $200.00 | 1,881 | $1,881.00 | 1,881 | $1,881.00 |
| $5,000.00 | 47,036 | $47,036.00 | 47,036 | $47,036.00 31% of the minute |
The two halves are almost identical because this market barely moved. It sat at its opening price until the knockout. Where a stake would have been a large share of that minute's entire volume, the table says so rather than printing a number nobody could have collected. Volume on that minute was 152,786 contracts. Returns are gross of the Kalshi trading fee and are hindsight: they show what a price paid once the result was known, not what anyone should stake next.
The official numbers

Landed of attempted. Significant strikes exclude short strikes from inside the guard; total strikes include them, which is why a fighter working on the ground can show a much larger total. Control time is time spent in a dominant position. Source: UFCStats official tabulation, read Sep 21, 2026.

No edge is marked on the rate stats here. Steveson has so little total cage time that the per-minute and per-15-minute figures are extrapolations rather than tendencies. The numbers are real and published. What they are not is a sample.
These are career rates from the fighters' official pages, read the day after the event. Most had not been updated with this fight yet, so they describe each man going in, not including this result. Takedown accuracy is left out everywhere: the published figure contradicts the published takedown average on several fighters, so we would rather show nothing than show a number we cannot reconcile.
Where each number came from, and what did not reconcile (18 notes)
- Steveson: THINNEST STAT SAMPLE OF THE FOUR. UFC.com's record is updated to 4-1-0, but the stat block is not: it covers exactly one fight, the 2:31 KO of Elisha Ellison at UFC 329, and excludes the 12-second loss to Sharaf. Verified arithmetically: the printed 02:31 average equals that single fight; slpm 16.29 over 2:31 gives exactly 41 significant strikes; sapm 5.17 gives exactly 13 absorbed; kd 5.96 per 15 minutes gives exactly 1 knockdown.
- Steveson: So slpm 16.29, acc 72%, sapm 5.17, sdef 61%, kd 5.96 and avg 2:31 all describe 151 seconds of Octagon time against one opponent. They are published, but they are a one-fight sample and carry no predictive weight.
- Steveson: tdd is null: UFC.com prints a dash, not a number. Nobody attempted a takedown on him in that fight, so the statistic is undefined rather than zero. Not filled from elsewhere.
- Steveson: td 0.00 is published and literal: he attempted no takedowns.
- Steveson: nick is null. UFC.com bills him with no nickname, confirmed on the athlete page and on Wikipedia. Per instruction, his wrestling, WWE and NFL background is kept out of every field here.
- Steveson: born and stance are not on UFC.com. Date of birth May 31, 2000 and stance Orthodox from Wikipedia; Sherdog has no profile page for him.
- Steveson: ht 5'11" agrees across Wikipedia and UFC.com's 71.00 inches. UFC.com's Weight field prints an implausible 73.00 for a heavyweight and was ignored; weight is not part of this schema.
- Steveson: Only five professional fights exist, so 'last' lists all five.
- Steveson: Takedown accuracy deliberately omitted.
- Sharaf: UFC.com's record is updated to 5-2-0, but the stat block is not: it covers only his two UFC LOSSES and excludes the 12-second win over Steveson. Verified arithmetically: the printed 08:02 average equals (7:15 + 8:49) / 2, his Tafa and Asplund fights. slpm 7.41 over 16:04 gives about 119 significant strikes landed; sapm 15.00 gives about 241 absorbed; td 0.93 per 15 minutes gives exactly 1 takedown.
- Sharaf: This badly skews him. Every published number describes 16 minutes in which he was being beaten up and stopped twice. sapm 15.00 and sdef 43% are the stats of a man losing two TKOs, and they say nothing about the fight he won in 12 seconds.
- Sharaf: tdd is null: UFC.com prints a dash, not a number. Not filled from elsewhere.
- Sharaf: kd 0.00 is published and literal, and is already stale, since he scored a knockdown to finish Steveson.
- Sharaf: born and stance are not on UFC.com. Date of birth July 11, 1993 from Sherdog; no Wikipedia article exists for him. Stance is null, not published by UFC.com or Sherdog, and ESPN's profile is JavaScript-rendered and returned no content.
- Sharaf: flag uses UFC.com's 'Trains at: Freestyle MMA'. Sherdog instead lists Xtreme Couture. Conflict unresolved; UFC.com preferred as the primary source.
- Sharaf: ht 6'2" agrees across Sherdog and UFC.com's 74.00 inches. Hometown differs slightly by source: UFC.com place of birth Anaheim, Sherdog and the facts file Santa Ana.
- Sharaf: Seven professional fights exist, so 'last' lists all seven.
- Sharaf: Takedown accuracy deliberately omitted.
