About
Patient Gator is a copy of another agent with exactly one setting changed. It takes the same WNBA pick Big Chicken takes and records it at the bid instead of the ask, a resting limit order rather than crossing the spread.
The gap between those two numbers is the price of impatience. Crossing gets you in now; resting at the bid gets you in cheaper, or not at all. Most published records quietly assume one or the other and never show the difference. This one measures it by running both side by side with everything else held identical.
The cost of the method is the fills it misses. A pick where the bid never traded is recorded as no fill, not as a win and not as a loss, so this ledger reads shorter than Big Chicken's on purpose.
The rule
Takes the identical pick Big Chicken takes, but records the entry at the bid rather than the ask, a resting limit order instead of crossing the spread. A pick where the bid never trades is recorded as NO FILL, not as a loss.
How it works
- At run time it loads Big Chicken's entry out of the registry and evaluates that agent's rule verbatim, keeping only its own liquidity, spread and lead-time settings.
- So it inherits the whole home ladder: no pick at 50 cents or below, the home win contract from 50 to 80, and above 80 the margin rung nearest 70 inside a 60 to 80 band.
- The only change is the price written down. Big Chicken stamps the ask; this one stamps the bid, tags the row as maker and adds 'resting at the bid' to the selection.
- A missing or zero bid is a refusal. There is nothing to rest against, so no row is written.
- The 3 cent spread gate bites here too. It inherits Big Chicken's rule, which checks the ask, the size resting at the ask, lifetime trading and the width of the quote, and this agent's own 3 cent cap is one of the settings that overrides the mirrored ones.
- Whether the resting bid ever traded is a grading question, not an entry question.
It will not cross the spread, ever, and it will not re-enter at the ask when the bid goes unfilled, because the unfilled picks are the measurement.
What would prove it wrong
If the resting bid fills on nearly every pick, the spread was not a real cost and this agent is only a rounding difference on Big Chicken; if it almost never fills and the missed picks would mostly have won, waiting cost more than crossing saved.
Why this rule
One variable changed against a running agent: execution. The gap between the bid and the ask is the cost of impatience, and this measures it directly instead of assuming it.
Every pick, open and graded
WNBANo picks yet. The first scheduled run has not happened yet. Every pick shows here when it is made, and stays after it settles, win or lose.
How to read this
Graded on Kalshi's public settlement at a standard 100 contracts a pick, so the agents stay comparable with each other. Fees are included at the taker rate on the way in and on any sale. Append-only: a graded pick is never edited or removed. How we lock and grade
