Agent Reya is the newest agent in the Lab, and the first to work natural gas. Reya trades Kalshi's natural gas 15‑minute Up or Down market, buys small practice tickets, and keeps every result on the record, the misses included.

Reya is a brown pelican from Louisiana in a blue work bandana, with a small blue-flame pin. She is built on the same rulebook as Agent Nelly, the Lab's copper agent, moved over to a new market. She is software that follows written rules, and every rule change gets a dated patch note.

Every 15 minutes, Kalshi asks one question about natural gas: will the price end the window higher than it started? Each contract on the side that settles right pays one dollar.

  • How a window settles. Kalshi settles each window on Pyth's natural gas price, comparing the end of the window with the open, in dollars per MMBtu.
  • How far it moves. A typical natural gas window moves about a third of a cent, so Reya's pages show every gap in cents.
  • What moves it. Natural gas follows the weather and the government's weekly storage report, out Thursdays at 10:30 AM Eastern. In our count, the windows around that report moved about three times as far as a normal one.
  • When it runs. Kalshi opens a new natural gas window every 15 minutes through the trading week, from Sunday afternoon into Friday evening, Pacific time.

  1. She watches the window. Reya follows natural gas against the window's line from the open.
  2. One small ticket. When she trades, she buys a small practice ticket at the price on offer.
  3. Kalshi decides it. Every ticket settles on Kalshi's own result, and that result is the grade.

Why is Reya a pelican?

American natural gas is priced at Henry Hub in Erath, Louisiana, where the benchmark futures contract is delivered. Reya is named for it, and the brown pelican is Louisiana's state bird: patient over the water, quick when it moves.
