Priced from the last trade before the bout opened. Stakes stop at $200 here: a prop market on a single fight is thin, and we have no depth data to say a larger stake could have been filled at this price. Combining it with another leg on the same fight would not multiply cleanly, which is why the ticket builder below refuses those.

The short version

  • Joanderson Brito beat Giga Chikadze by KO (strikes), round 1, 1:57
  • Early prelims, Featherweight, 3 rounds
  • Closing line: Joanderson Brito −410, Giga Chikadze +320
  • Joanderson Brito closed at 79¢ on Kalshi. The cheapest a buyer could get him while the fight was live was 78¢, and he settled at 100¢

Build a ticket

Every leg below was a real Kalshi market on this fight, at the price it traded for before the bout opened. Tick any combination to see what it would have returned. This is hindsight, not a pick.

Pick a leg to start.

Prices are the last trade before this bout opened, taken from Kalshi one-minute candles. Combining legs multiplies their prices, which assumes they are independent. They are not: a round-one finish and a knockout overlap heavily, so a real book would price that ticket higher than the arithmetic here. Returns are gross of the Kalshi fee, and the larger stakes assume that size was there to buy, which on a thin prop market it often was not.

That is what selling 100 contracts at 31¢ would have netted, to someone who did sell there. We did not. The published order asked for 35¢ and the market never got there, so the position rode to settlement and took the loss below. Naming the exit in advance and honouring it is the rule; this is what the rule cost on this fight.

The plan was to buy Giga Chikadze at 22¢ and sell at 35¢. The sell order never filled, because 35¢ never traded on this market at any point in its life. The price reached 31¢ inside a single minute, 2:45 to 2:46 PM PT, then went to 0¢ on the knockout. Held to settlement, as the rule required, the position lost everything it cost.

How it happened

The result

Joanderson Brito beat Giga Chikadze by knockout at 1:57 of round one at UFC 331 on September 19, 2026, in the featherweight bout that opened the card. Brito took a $25,000 finish bonus. It was his third straight win and Chikadze's fourth straight loss.

Brito needed one minute and fifty-seven seconds. He dropped Chikadze with strikes and the referee waved it off in the first round, the fastest finish of a card that produced several. It was the opening bout of the night and it set the tone for an evening where five of twelve underdogs won.

Chikadze is 38 and leaves on a four-fight losing streak, having come in on three. He has not won since 2023. Before the UFC he built a 38-12 kickboxing record and reached a GLORY tournament final, and he holds three Performance of the Night bonuses inside the Octagon, but the last two years have gone badly.

Brito moves to 20-5-1 and a third straight win, with back-to-back first-round finishes. At 31 he is doing his best work in a division that has room at the edges, and the market had him at 79 cents, which is as close to a formality as this card got.

Average fight timeNeither is better. It says how each man's fights end.12:528:52

These are career rates from the fighters' official pages, read the day after the event. Most had not been updated with this fight yet, so they describe each man going in, not including this result. Takedown accuracy is left out everywhere: the published figure contradicts the published takedown average on several fighters, so we would rather show nothing than show a number we cannot reconcile.

Where each number came from, and what did not reconcile (20 notes)
  • Chikadze: UFC.com stat block EXCLUDES UFC 331. Working: published average fight time 12:52 = 772.1s. His 13 fights before this one (12 UFC bouts plus the Jun 19 2018 DWCS loss to Austin Springer, which UFC.com counts) total 900+900+900+900+231+63+704+1500+900+900+900+389+850 = 10,037s; 10,037/13 = 772.1s = 12:52 exactly. Adding this fight (117s) gives 10,154s over 14 = 725.3s = 12:05, which is not what the page shows. Therefore slpm, acc, sapm, sdef, td, tdd, kd and avg are all PRE-UFC 331 figures.
  • Chikadze: The same page is internally inconsistent: its record block (15-7-0) and its fight-history module HAVE ingested UFC 331, while the stat block has not.
  • Chikadze: TRAP CONFIRMED: every row of UFC.com's fight-history module carries a 'Win' badge, including the losses to Brito, Vallejos and Onama. Badges discarded. Last-seven rebuilt from Sherdog and Wikipedia, which agree row for row and reconcile to 15-6 before / 15-7 after (Barboza W 14-2, Kattar L 14-3, Caceres W 15-3, Allen L 15-4, Onama L 15-5, Vallejos L 15-6, Brito L 15-7).
  • Chikadze: Method wording: the facts file and the brief say KO (strikes). Sherdog and Wikipedia both render it KO (punches). Carried as KO (strikes) per the facts file.
  • Chikadze: Stance is not published by UFC.com, Sherdog or Wikipedia. null.
  • Chikadze: Team: UFC.com publishes no team for him. Kings MMA is taken from Sherdog and Wikipedia, which agree. Flagged because it is not a UFC.com figure.
  • Chikadze: Takedown accuracy (UFC.com: 17%) deliberately omitted per brief.
  • Chikadze: Wins-by-method 9 KO/TKO, 1 sub, 5 dec agree exactly between UFC.com and Sherdog. Note this differs from the 9/0/6 placeholder in the brief's template.
  • Chikadze: Minor, outside the last seven: the Omar Morales bout is dated Oct 10 2020 by Sherdog and Oct 11 2020 by Wikipedia. Not used.
  • Chikadze: Sample: UFC.com's rates rest on 13 fights totalling 10,037s (2h47m17s) of recorded cage time. Reasonable depth for striking rates; the grappling rates rest on almost no takedown attempts (td 0.18 per 15 min).
  • Brito: UFC.com has NOT ingested UFC 331 for this fighter at all. Working: its record block still reads 19-5-1 and its wins-by-method tally is 8 KO + 8 sub + 3 dec = 19 wins, both of which are the PRE-fight record; post-fight is 20-5-1. Its fight-history module's newest entry is Jun 6 2026 vs Jordan Leavitt, with no Sep 19 2026 row at all.
  • Brito: Average fight time confirms it independently: published 8:52 = 532.3s. His 11 fights before this one (10 UFC bouts plus the Aug 31 2021 DWCS technical decision over Diego Lopes, which UFC.com counts) total 900+41+122+174+534+515+900+900+900+259+610 = 5,855s; 5,855/11 = 532.3s = 8:52 exactly. Adding this fight (117s) gives 5,972s over 12 = 497.7s = 8:17. So slpm, acc, sapm, sdef, td, tdd, kd and avg are all PRE-UFC 331 figures.
  • Brito: fin / ko / sub / dec are POST-fight and DERIVED, not published anywhere yet. UFC.com and Sherdog both publish 8 KO/TKO, 8 sub, 3 dec against 19 wins. The verified result (KO of Chikadze) makes it 9/8/3 against 20 wins. Pure arithmetic on a verified finish, but flagged because no source states 9/8/3.
  • Brito: Sherdog is stale too: it still shows 19-5-1 and lists UFC 331 as an UPCOMING fight. Last-seven built from Wikipedia (which carries the result) and cross-checked against Sherdog for the six earlier bouts; the two agree row for row and reconcile 19-5-1 to 20-5-1 with the 2016 draw against Jefson Castor preserved (Pearce W 16-3-1, Shore W 17-3-1, Gomis L 17-4-1, Sabatini L 17-5-1, Thomson W 18-5-1, Leavitt W 19-5-1, Chikadze W 20-5-1).
  • Brito: DATE OF BIRTH UNRESOLVED, so born is null. Wikipedia says Feb 15 1995, Sherdog says Feb 11 1995. UFC.com publishes no date of birth. ESPN's fighter pages render client-side and returned empty; Tapology blocks fetching. Age 31 is safe: both candidate dates give 31 as of Sep 2026, and UFC.com independently publishes 31.
  • Brito: UFC.com publishes takedown accuracy 6% alongside a takedown average of 3.23 per 15 min, which cannot both be right. This is the contradiction the brief flagged. Takedown accuracy omitted.
  • Brito: Stance is not published by UFC.com, Sherdog or Wikipedia. null.
  • Brito: Nickname: UFC.com house style is Tubarao. Wikipedia and Tapology use the accented Tubarão. UFC form carried.
  • Brito: Team: UFC.com says Chute Boxe; Sherdog and Wikipedia say Chute Boxe Joao Emilio. UFC form carried, no contradiction.
  • Brito: Sample thinness: UFC.com's rates rest on 11 fights totalling 5,855s (1h37m35s) of cage time, and five of his last seven ended inside the distance, so the per-minute rates are driven by a small number of short, violent fights. The 44% striking defence and the 51% of significant strikes he lands in particular come off very little time at range.

Brito closed at 79 cents, about -410 at the books, and the cheapest a buyer could get him while the fight was live was 78 cents. The lowest trade printed at 77. This is one of the tightest markets on the card, a single cent between the trade low and the best offer, so the number you see is close to the number you could have had.

That tightness is the whole story. There was no dip to catch, no moment where the market doubted him. It opened near 79, it stayed near 79, and it went to 100 when the referee stepped in. A favourite this short offers almost nothing to a trader, which is exactly why our own writer was on the other side.

The right half is the best offer that existed while the fight was live. Getting filled there still depends on size being available, which a candlestick cannot tell you. Where a stake would have been a large share of that minute's entire volume, the table says so rather than printing a number nobody could have collected. Volume on that minute was 15,415 contracts. Returns are gross of the Kalshi trading fee and are hindsight: they show what a price paid once the result was known, not what anyone should stake next.

Quick answers

Who won Chikadze vs Brito at UFC 331?

Joanderson Brito won by knockout at 1:57 of round one. It was the opening bout of the card and Brito took a $25,000 finish bonus for it.

Did PM Countdown pick this fight correctly?

No. Our writer bought Chikadze at 22 cents with a sell order at 35 cents. The order never filled, the price peaked at 31 cents, and the position settled at zero. It is graded as a loss on this page and on the writer's record.

Why did the 35 cent sell order never fill?

Because 35 cents never traded on that market at any point in its life. The highest price Chikadze ever reached was 31 cents, touched inside a single minute during the fight, and it collapsed to 1 cent seconds later.

How many losses is that in a row for Chikadze?

Four. He came into UFC 331 on a three-fight skid and has not won since 2023. He is 38 and holds a 38-12 kickboxing record from before his UFC run.
